So I just got my new RX-8 the other day and it is sweet! The only issue I have with it are minor annoyances.

The car alarm kept going off on the car every time I opened the drivers side door so I would have to deactivate it by opening the trunk. I finally realized that when I lock the doors with the clicker, the drivers side door does not lock. I have to manually push the lock. So now I just manually lock my doors and no more car alarm.

Secondly, the steering wheel is "off centered" when driving straight, and my DSC constantly flashes. I did the steering wheel reset per the instructions in the quick start guide but it did nothing.

Also my tire indicator and my traction control lights are always on in the instrument panel.

Lastly my steering wheel controls do not work including both the audio controls and cruise controls. My CD changer also does not work. It will not read discs and it will not accept more than one disc.

Are all of these issues related or are they all part of the same issue such as my Body Control Module being shot? I put a brand new battery in the car as the old one kept draining.

And lastly it seems it takes a whole second for the car to start up like all the systems are "powering on" if you can understand what I mean. Is that normal due to the nature of the rotary engine?

Undocumented or poorly-repaired crash damage? Any airbag lights? Is the driver's airbag really there?

The car fax said it was in an accident the first week the car was bought back in 2004 at only 1,000 miles on the car. But it was listed as a fender bender. How can I tell if the airbag is there?

yeah. I've never heard of any of those before (although I'm not exactly the best person to ask here).

Might be worth getting it inspected. If you bought it at a dealer, dont get them to do it, and if anything big comes up, try to get them to repair it? maybe?

I don't really know what would cause that stuff other than physical damage...

everything about the steering wheel says the steering wheels been off and not put back together correctly I'd bet a beer there is no airbag in there.

Tire light- are the Mazda wheels on the car or some after market wheels?

have the battery , starter and alternator tested.
