Water from interior light

Hi guys!

Last night when driving home I noticed that there is water dripping from my driver side interior light. You know, the one in the ceiling which you can operate by pushing the button next to it. Now... It is winter here and there's a little bit snow and ice gathered on the roof and it could be that it melted a bit yesterday, but how is it getting in? I don't have a sunroof.

This is really weird. I tried to google and search for it here, but only got tail light issues. Anybody got any ideas?

There's a spot welded seam under the two trim pieces that run along the top sides of the roof. Sometimes the sealant fails. Silicone will likely fix your problem.

I know you have no sunroof and therefore I'm going to discount all the stuff about those drains getting clogged and what not.
While this seems a long way away from where the water is puddling, but take a look at this thread. https://www.rx8club.com/trouble-shoo...otaled-233060/
It also seems to me that it's far more likely to be in the windshield seal area, but one never knows. It may very well be just how you car is parked and leans at the time.
Do some advanced searches using "water leak" and among the myriad of taillight leak threads you will see some others that may give you ideas.

If you get as far as want to remove the map lights to give a look, then follow this...................... https://www.rx8club.com/do-yourself-...ch-unit-97596/

There also a thread about removing the headliner as well somewhere.
