using high octane or not? is it necessary?

where do you fill up? and what octane do you use?

hello guys, i have been getting horrible gas mileage (just like all of us) and I wanted to know what octane do you use?

here in Ca we have 88, 89, 91.

is it necessary to use 91? the high octane?

Thanks!

I will be the first to let you know, you are going to get flamed for not searching. This topic is brought up once a week, so just search and you will find just about everyone's opinion on this subject.

I use 87 btw.

I've used Shell 87 and 91. There is a noticeable increase in throttle response using the 91.
