A couple weeks ago I went to start my car and it cranked, but wouldn't start up. I pressed down lightly on the gas and after a couple more tries it finally started, the check engine light also came on. I've drove it a few times since that happened with the same results, once having to crank it about 7 times before it started. It's an 05, manual, with just over 40k miles. newer battery, plugs I bought last year. What would cause this? I first thought coils and wires, or possibly the starter but I wasnt sure if that would be a cause for the check engine light to come on and stay on. So I decided to ask you guys. Yes, I used the search button, with no satisfactory results. Thanks in advance

 

could be a ton of things, best to get the CEL checked out.
