took a trip from ND to duluth MN last weekend about half way there the car started grinding shifting into 4th gear, at rpm's at 5 or higher... if i shift into 4th under 5rpm it's fine. anyone know what's wrong????

 

Did you try searching on this site for that? It has been discussed quite a bit, and it will help eliminate some troubleshooting for diagnosis

 

yes i have read some threads about this but i know nothing about cars. most say it's probly a bad synchro???

 

I had the same problem with my second gear. would shift fine at low revs but at high revs it would grind for a second before sliding into gear. It turned out to be that my second gear syncro was blown. Hope this helps.

 

yeah i'm guessing that's probably the problem. i'll just have to take it easy till i can get it in the shop. i'm stuck at school for awhile and won't be going home any time soon.
