has anyone experienced this? no CEL and car runs fine except for this metal ringing that is driving me crazy. I went to trade in the car and dealership refused to take the car although I was approved for the loan without trade in but I don't wanna keep the car at all. lol

something is loose and vibrating causing that. what exhaust do you have?

 

tanabe hyper medallion.

I thought it might be heat shield on cat but the symptoms seems to be different for people who've posted on forum.

 

first thing id have you check is the hangers and heat shield etc. when was it put on?

 

actually if you are trading it and you still have the stock you should see about selling the tanabe and swapping the stock back in. that re-install would at least narrow down the issue and you might make a buck off the tanabe

 

yeah i thought about it but I wanted to get an idea of how much id get out of it. I have axial flow ss and aem cai so it would be good 400 bucks all together if I can find stock stuff lol

the problem started day after front main seal behind main pulley was replaced for oil leak and silicon for oil pan.

would they be related somehow? or just a coincidence.

 

the exhaust was put on early 2009
