TCS with new rear tires

I just got two new Continental ContiExtremeContact tires in the stock size on the stock rims put on by Mavis. I only had two installed both on the rear axle. These tires were put on about 600 miles ago. While keeping the stock Bridgestones on the front. The front tires are probally warn down to 3/32 or 4/32 of tread.

Now the problem is that now while i hit any turn/exit ramp even at speeds well below the posted speed my Traction control kicks in. I first thought it was because the tires were new and needed to be broken in. But they continue to have the same problem. Or is this from having the summer tires in the front, and A/S tires in the rear?

If I take the TCS off then the car handles great, at increased speeds. I now have grandpa on my butt while i take a turn or the TCS gets cranky. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

ur TCS kicks in because it sense different speed.

like u said the front ones are all worn out.(or almost worn out).

when u try to brake, the sensor will be like "wtf the front 2 is not stopping, flap the brakes!"

you should always replace all tires at the same time(and same brand/lineup) to prevent this from happening.

Quieting Grandpa Down

I have had the same issue as well, and I appreciate your response to our comrade's query. Considering I have about 1100 miles on the new set on the back, do you think that the TCS would sense the difference? Would I have to buy an entire new set, basically two to replace the front (at about 1/2 tread) and two to replace the practically new?

That is what I am afraid of. I think if my fears are realized any sort of frustration at the situation would be midigated by how impressed I would be at the sensitivity of my 8's TCS.

Cheers.
