taking my rx-8 out of storage change new battary (red top), went to start just whining then engine light starts flashing...please help..

charge the battery?..ill try it my voltage gauge is reading 12.2v tho

 

well there could be a multitude of problems, if it sat there with gas in the tank for any extended period... .then the gas is probably bad

The rotary doesn't like to sit for any extended period without being ran

 

You need to be a lot more descriptive in order for us to help you.
"went to start just whining" isn't helping much... what is whining?
Do you hear the starter turning or is the car actually cranking (attempting to start)?
When you turn the key to 'start' do the interior lights begin to dim?
If the engine does attempt to crank, do the cranks sound consistent or does it start slowing down?
You're receiving the CEL because the car isn't starting... so it won't do any good pulling the codes.

You need to walk us through what you're doing and hearing when attempting to start the car...

 

when i turn the key to start the lights do not dim the car doesnt crank its just like if it was flooded as the like the starter is just turning ..didnt attempt to crank when i first tryed to start the car.

 

could be flooded ... try the de-flooding // push start time

 

tryed to de-flood today still just the starter whinning not trying to crank over

 

maybe ill throw some magic juice in the throttle body lol

 

well i towed the piece of **** to the dealer for the 3rd time in less then a yr!!!
