tail light problem! Help!
It's not about water in the tails, but after someone backed into the front end of my car (decently bad) my tail lights won't turn on. The brake lights, and signals work, just the lights that you turn on at night don't come on. Maybe it has nothing to do with the person backing into me, but just thought that might have something to do with it! Thanks!

Try turning on the parking lights, then check and see if your front parking lights turn on. (Should be the little lights to the inside of each headlight assembly.)
If they don't turn on, you most likely have a blown fuse. Find and replace fuse. Turn on lights and see if they come on.
If not, check fuse again. If fuse blown again, you have a shorted wire.
If the fronts turn on, and the backs don't, check your bulbs. If they're both OK, you may have a broken wire or somebody forgot a connection.

Im sorry for bringing up an old thread but where are the locations where the wire shorts may be. I recently side swiped a building and my side marker lights and tail lights are out. I checked for blown fuses and all seem good I even replaced them. I have also checked the bulbs and the filaments are still in tact. I have an 05 6m rx8

Its seems to me that what he was getting at was to look for damaged wires due to the accident. Sometimes they can get cut behind a body part from the accident that you cannot easily see.
