Starting yesterday I noticed my A/C, while on the coldest setting, occasionally alternates between very cold to mildly warm humid air.

Yes, I have done the diagnostic and everything is fine.

I have also noticed some visible cold air a couple times, though it's only for a few seconds each day.

It has been pretty hot the last couple days and I have been in stop-and-go traffic.

Anyone know what the problem might be? Does it just need a recharge or is there something else going bad?

Could be lots of things; check the compressor belt tension and make sure the fans are working. If it's still not working, do the performance test according to the manual and post the readings.

 

I'd keep the A/C reading up, and see if the numbers change(Hit power+Vol up). I know mine will go from 0 to about 5 if I hit a bump.. I need to fix that thing one day.
