Stereo has power but no audio comes from speakers

Today, I turned on my RX-8 and played some music from the stereo perfectly fine. After I started the ignition and put the car in gear, the audio suddenly just cut out. I tried CDs, Aux, and FM radio. All worked fine, except no audio was coming from my speakers. Not even the beep for pushing buttons. I have the upgraded Bose system and have a 2004. If it helps, I just took the tires off to replace fog lights, however, the speakers worked after that happened. Please help. Thanks!

sorry to hear your troubles bro. wish I could help you out. The only thing I am aware of is that some memorex cd's don't play in the CD player...i.e. "burnt cd's" while some brands of burnt cd or CD-R's do play. Cd's you buy at the store work fine...weird.

Have you checked all your fuses? Do you have the oem head unit or aftermarket one?

Check your amp. I had the same problems and it was the amp in your trunk.

I checked the amp but the only thing I found was two plugs. I unplugged them and plugged them back in. No success there. What else should I check with the amp? How did it work for you?

OEM. And yes before you ask, I made sure the connection between the faceplate and radio was secure.

Go buy a amp out of a junker. I bought one for thirty bucks. have fun ripping the back of your car apart to install it though. You can also bring it to a stereo store and the can test the signal going into the amp. If there is a signal going into your amp and you hear nothing = amp fried.
