steering wheel is not straight

hi in my 2005 rx8 when i am driving perfectly straight my steering wheel is tilted to the left like if I'm turning but I'm going in a straight line which is so annoying any ideas on how to fix it ?

sounds like you need an alignment...

or put your car in the on position, turn your steering wheel all the way to the left, then all the way to the right then back to the middle.

I assume you are kidding. That will NOT change the mechanical alignment of the steering. That is the procedure for resetting / recalibrating the DSC system after battery disconnect. Not the same thing at all....

OP should find a good alignment shop and all will be well. If in Southern California, I recommend Accurate Alignment in Orange. They are the best alignment guys I've seen by far, and will work with you to dial it in exactly the way you want it.

Only 2 ways for the steering wheel to be off center without bent or broken steering/suspension parts:

1) Front toe alignment is off (usually the case)

2) The steering wheel is not correctly aligned on the spline teeth of the steering shaft (or the steering shaft splines are not correctly aligned into the steering rack).

I have dealt with both of these, the 2nd after replacing my lower steering shaft u-joint and not getting the splines correctly lined up.
