HELP!!!!!!!

Well I bought my 8 this January. i've only owned it for 6 months. and I'm experiancing the weirdest ****....I need some ideas thoughts on what it could be.

HELP!!!!!!!

so yeah...my 8 is all kinds of screwed up like i told you guys yesterday (chris & dave).

I have been experiancing this issue since the weekend. My car stalls when I brake at high speeds - mostly when I'm in 5th or 6th gear.

Yesterday I decided to push it when i was closer to my girls house (exit 57 on the LIE / Suffulk county) . I was on the right lane put it into 5th and guned it to about 80/85 start braking and loss of power (the gas is cut off all the warning lights come on) and the car stalls. I pull over to should restart and continue to go on.

I decided for ***** kicks n giggles to see what would happen if I push it in 4th as soon as I hit 85/90 started to brake and it stalled again but this time I was in the left lane. Luckily for me there was no traffic in the HOV lane so I cut across 1 lane to the HOV shoulder. Restarted and went to my girls.

As I was driving to bank w/my girl in the 8. Doing 30ish at most in 3rd....as I braked it stalled for no f00king reason. Didn't happen again though.

I may have to strongly consider bringing in my car before rotorjam and miss the show all together :o( (If they can't fix it like ASAP status.)

Lets brain storm and see what we can come up with.

Before we start I am going to put the stock air box back in.

Now I'm thinking it's the following issues and in the order of most likely.

1. ECU
2. Electrical (since my car only shuts off when I brake at high speeds / doesn't the ecu control braking?)
3. Motor (maybe there is a leak or soemthing not right causing the loss of power / stalling?)
4. Fuel injectors or spark plugs?
5. Tranny (dunno how but maybe?)

So what do you guys think it could be? HELP!!!!!!!

It happens when I am inhigh gear, let go of gas, press clutch, press brake even before attempting to down shift. All of the warning lights go on (battery, motor, radiator (assume what it is), tracking control, etc....all of them) I lose power i can't give it gas. I have tried to press the clutch while in motion and restarting the car....but that doesn't seem to work.

If the car is in gear and you get out of the gas to coast, does it stall then. Or only when you take it out of gear and coast/brake in neutral.

I had the same problem, only occured when the engine was in neutral or the clutch was pushed so the engine was free of the tranny. Turns out that the intake came disconnected right after the MAF. Ran perfect when you were in the throttle, but would not keep and idle when you pushed the clutch in to decelerate.

If he did the problem would have shown up a while ago.. but he mentioned it started over the weekend.

What I suggested since it seems to happen only when depressing the brake was to disable DSC (8 second hold down) and try it then. At high speeds I suppose that the DSC/ABS would be monitoring the wheel speed continuously. So it could be that one of his modules is fried (water damage?).. so taking it out of the equation would atleast point us in another direction..

Goto Autozone and have them check the battery. Checking to see if the battery is in good shape should be your first step. Autozone can check you battery while it's still in the car in the parking lot if you go there during daylight hours.

In most cases the alternator would keep the car charged enough to keep it running, Plus the car would not fire once it stalled if hte battery was dead. IMHO the battery would not be the problem. I have known to be wrong before though

I have a new optima red top battery. The battery I replaced that came w/the car should've been good regarldess. It's an '08 that I picked up this January of '08.

What exactlyhappens is this...

4th to 5th gear traveling about 85 mph need to slow down I release Gas press Clutch Press Brake. As soon as I press brakes the emergency lights eluminate. Car loses power. Gas is cut off. I try to dump into neutral to start from a roll/while in motion. Nothing happens. I pull over. Turn car off. Turn ignition. Car starts and I drive off.

I have been having the issues since Friday evening in my 5th and 6th gear. But only yesterday this happened when I was cruising around 30ish in 3rd gear. Randomly turned off/stalled.

I've check fuses. They all look fine. None are fired or even smell fried.

Again I have a 2008 GT and since I bought the car I have only put on just a hair over 5,000 miles on it. I have done 2 oil changes. 1st time I swaped for Castrol gtx 5w20. The 2nd time i switched to castrol gtx 10w30 for a slightly thicker oil to better oil/lubricate the motor and keep heating temperatures at a lower temp.

The only mod I currently have now is the Rotory Extremem Intake w/an HKS filter. I had the RP mid pipe. I just took it off because my gf can't stand the fumes of a catless midpipe and of course aint good for the baby.

I'm having this exact same problem, I've simply braked it down to 20 to 30 and dropped it into 2nd and let the clutch fly, starts it right up and as long as I keep my foot on the gas it continues to run. I've had similar problems before with other vehicles and it always went back to the maf/vaf. I've ordered a new maf but still waiting on it, I'll keep posted once I've installed and tried it out.
