Hey everyone. I'd like to get the spare tire kit out of my trunk to free up some space, and some cash for mods. I looked in the trunk and it seemed like removal would be simple - Four bolts. However, for the life of me I can't get one of them loose. Everything I do to try and get it out results in the stripping of the corners of the bolt. Any ideas on how to get it out? I don't want to bring it to the dealer so they can charge me an arm and a leg to take out the spare.

Also one other thing. I know there are spare tire mounting brackets that go on the inside of the trunk. When people sell their spare tire kits on rx8club, do they include these? I'd like to know if there's any work in getting them out.

That is bracket A and needs to go with the spare. It's held on by two nuts that stay with the car. Take a look at the spare install instructions and it will make sense. Once you remove bracket A that stripped bolt will come out with it. You might have better luck getting it out with it outside of the trunk. If not you can cut it and get a new on from a hardware store, it's not a special bolt.
