So I hit something.....

I was going through a construction zone at night and slowed down just incase and hit this metal cover thing in the middle of the road. It wasn't connected to anything and it went under the car. It started in the in front middle and my back passenger tire cleared it.....

I slowed down to MAX 25km/h before I hit the thing and it wasn't connect to anything.

The car feels find driving and sounds normal above 2k RPM. When starting from a dead stop (manual tranny) there is a big vibration from 1-2k RPM and a deeper noise than usual. But it all sorts itself out at 2k.

Any ideas what this could be?

Again, everything feels find outside of this range. Not leaking any fluids etc...

EDIT : Vibration/noise seems to be located in the center of the car between the shift **** and rear cup holders.

Car is lowered on coilovers, hence why I hit this....

I would start by getting the car lifted and take a look under there and see what is going on.

Check your motor mounts through the wheel wells.

Nobody can inspect your car on a forum based on a generic description.

Take it to a place with a lift to get it up in the air and inspected properly

I hit a man hole cover pretty hard once and started to get a weird buzz in that general area as well....turns out i had broken a bracket\support that goes side to side, not sure of the actual name but it turned out to be a cheap fix

I bottomed out on a gravel road and my car started to vibrate badly; only when in gear. Turned out that I had a bunch of rocks stuck up in the drive shaft and it was rubbing bad. I revved up a few times and it cleared out. No damage to drive shaft upon inspection either. It could also be that you have knock your heat shields loose and it is rubbing your drive shaft.
