Don't give the dealer any hints. Just tell them how it's acting and see what hey come up with on their own. That's my advice anyway. Hopefully you haven't said to much to them already?
well mazda says new engine. But i called customer service and explained the situation. I have a chance of getting this covered under warranty. Theres a new thread i just made in regards to that...
If the MAF was unplugged, the engine likely ran very rich, which can flood the chambers and cause heavy smoke once everything is reconnected. Usually this clears after proper warm up and driving. A technician at Luxury Rides LLC once mentioned checking for oil fouling and confirming no excess fuel smell in the exhaust.
