Security Indicator Light /wont start

Security Indicator Light /wont start
We have a 2004 RX8 6MT. The battery was replaced and now the Security Indicator Light is on and the engine will not turn over. The book says to consult the dealer....any other suggestions? Ive tried pulling the battery cord to reset and also checked all fuses. Im at a loss.....

Same case....just happened today when i was planning to smth else! it ruined my day!
the security red light keep flashing when i turn the key to "on" and wont let me start my 8...
04 AT....dont think it's realted to the battery =[

I had this problem and it was because I had a dead/bad battery. I have an Optima red top that was 5 months old. if the battery doesnt have enough juice to power the electronics it will shut it down. In my case I got the battery replaced and installed it and everything was fine. Nothing had to be reprogrammed it was just like it was before.

I storage my car for the winter Yesterday I went to start it afther couple months the battery was dead so I jumped whit other car if start it I let it run for like 20 mins and turn it off tried to start it again don't start I believe I flooated so I start the procedure to unfloode the battery die again so I jump it again whit other car. If cranks like 5 times afther that the security light come on and don't crank or anything I already unplog the battery and tried the next day whit no luck hel please. Sorry for my wrything my English is bad

there is a chance that u overheated the wiring and melted something, Mazda should mention this in the manual, after 2-3 times of just cranking, the wires get ultra hot and sometimes I can see smoke coming out of the terminals, and as our car ages, the wiring gets more brittle so I am not surprised if something melts.
but anyway, have a dealership or someone who knows car very well to check it for u.

A flashing CEL is ALWAYS a misfire.
However there are several different things that can cause a misfire.

i just had this problem or alittle different:
the security light flashes with a couple beeps and my engine wont turn over not even a sound
...i try to use my scanner and check for any codes, it wont read anything not even the vin number
...i called someone to reprogram my key to see if that helps, he could not even reprogram it...we checked the fuses they were good he said it might be the "PCM"
........anybody have any ideas on what might be the problem?

It's a sequence of the key light flashing that may help you pinpoint it.
