Seat Problem(s)

So I just bought a 2004 RX-8 with 50k miles. When I move the seat bottom up this happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSFYMIz0Ey8. Also the seat bolster makes a kind of grinding noise, is this normal?

Didn't actually listen or watch, but go here and click on a couple you think might fit what you are talking about.

. I was hoping for an easy fix. Any ideas? The seat warmer was replaced by the previous owner recently and they forgot to plug the airbag harness in .

All I can say is......as uncomfortable as it may be, you're going to have to become a circus act and try to get under there from both the front and the back and see what's not moving(binding). It looks like from the video it would be something on the outboard side. Maybe something in the track? May be a bolt head too high? Does it kinda do it in both directions or just moving forward at a certain spot?

It's not when the seat moves forward. It's when the seat moves up (twords the ceiling). How could this be caused by binding?

Not sure what you mean, If the seat is all the way up I can push the 2 halves together (with some force) but they come right back apart.
