I have a 2005 RX8 atuto transmission with the paddle shift on the steering wheel. I am having trouble with the paddle shift. It will not shift up but does shift down with no problem. Car has 30k miles and has no other problems. It shifts OK with the stick in manual mode. I talked to the service manager and he has never seen the problem so naturally it's a hundred dollar diagnosis fee. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. It sounds like a microswithch adjustment in the steering wheel to me but the serviceman wasn't as positive.

 

Both upshift paddles? If so, it's probably the up switch

Paddle shifters do fail. I lost the up shift one on the right side. Phils8 lost the same one. They do go bad.
Can you shift normal with the regular shifter? And is it one paddle shifter that wont shift up or both?

 

Shifts fine on the stick. Both up paddles are out. Where is the problem and how much trouble to fix? john pontus15@aol.com
