Rx8 fail while drifting

Am not sure how to name this thread.. Lol.. Last week after work I wanted to finish off the rear tires to install new ones and what better way than going drifting!! Or so I thought... So I disabled the DSC by pressing till both lights went off.

I started the drift around a half circle at a street and the car suddenly just stopped like if it bug out and it wouldn't accelerate, I took out first gear and engaged again after tapping the clutch a couple times and trying to accelerate. Then it starter working again and I went for a second try (the car never shut down it stayed on all this time).
Anyways mid drift it did the same thing again and I was accelerating and it wouldn't do anything.
The only thing I can compare to because is hard to explain is to a bike with carburetor. If you ever had a carburetor and is dirty or bad, while you're on the gas it bugs out, kind shuts off/on. Any thoughts? I'll try to upload the video. Thanks..

I wouldn't want a opinion from ignorant like you anyways. Its a closed road and no cars were harm in this video. Anyways everyone starts on the streets and everyone does it or have done it.

It sounds like fuel starvation but don't drift on the public highway, it's got bad news written all over it.

Thank you, I'll look into that. I had about 1/4 left in the tank I didn't think that would matter, but it might have. Like I said we left work late and was just looking to finish off the tires to buy new ones for autoX. Thanks for the advice.

+1 to fuel starvation. Try with a full tank of gas and see what happens.

Didn't think you would notice!! I bought aluminum extended lugs and they left me stranded on the middle of the highway with a flat tire. <long story... Had to replace with my old ones and am missing one of them... Never buying those again.. lol

I haven't been able to enjoy the streetport because i don't have a cobb and so not tuned either. The car is running good but definitely need to get it tuned.
