RX8 died after long time and problematic idle occasionally
Weird problem here. I just took a 400+ mile trip. I noticed after about 300 miles while cruising on the interstate @ 65 mph I had very little acceleration. I mean it would like 20 to 30 seconds to get to 66 and so on. I got off at an exit to see if I still had acceleration in lower gears and no luck. I pretty much had to climb to 4k rpm to even start rolling. Approximately 20 minutes later after getting back on the interstate the engine died. I got out checked fluids and tried to start again and got nothing. Disconnected the MAF sensor ( the plug only ) and everything looked clean then I sat in my car for about 10 more minutes and tried to start and it worked. Accleration was back and its been two days now and havent noticed anything else wrong. I've just ordered a OBD2 adapter to monitor some readings to try and figure out if anything is wrong. What kind of stats should I be monitoring and what are their normal readings? Thanks for the help.
Also, for quite some time now my 8 has been idling a little rough. If I give it a little gas to about 1500 rpms then it goes away. What can I look for on the adapter to try and narrow this down too?

No engine codes what so ever. I dont want to say that disconnecting the MAF sensor and reconnecting it did anything, but still a weird problem. At the moment I do not have access to my tools and/or a garage. Is there anything I can do that wouldn't involve actually working on the car?

Driving my unreliable rx8
Disconnecting it didn't hurt anything. Try starting it and look to see if the cat is glowing.
If it is bad then any running is damaging your engine. You can pull it with a crescent and channel lock pliers if you had to i bet.
