Rubaway Dashboard :(

I'm pretty unhappy w/ some of the materials that are used for the RX8 dashboard. It seems that everytime I even touch the cover to the passenger side airbag cover, the dashabove the radio display or, the black vinyl part of the lower door it rubs away and leaves this horrible white discoloration. It just flakes off. Anyone had this problem? Car is like 5 months old.

I haven't really had this problem, a couple of times I've scratched it and caused the white but its remedied with a good detailing--have you thought about some of the vinyl/plastic protectants and shines? That should get the white discoloration off--honestly you are gonna have that issue with any car, only to certain extent.

Maybe the dealer applied some kind of "protectant" for "your convenience"?

Just wipe it with a piece of damp cloth, I think its some protectant stuff that dried up and flake off.

Turtlewax shine and protect. I had the same issue with my brand new 8 that I got 3 weeks ago. Maybe it's the stuff they use at the dealer to detail it? Gave it a good detailing the week after I got it- good as new.
