Remote Locking not working

My remote central locking has not been working for a while and tonight I decided to try and get it working. Here is what I did.

Step 1.
Try both key fobs to make sure it wasn't a fob issue. Both Key fobs previously worked.

Step 2.
Check all fused in the cabin (Left driver side footwell) and engine bay (main fuse box by induction).
All fuses checked out good.

Step 3.

After lots of research I found this guide.
  1. Make sure all doors are closed (trunk and hood too)
  2. Open the driver door and keep it open
  3. Sit in the car and put the key in the ignition (in the off position)
  4. Now (driver door is still open) you will have to do the following three steps within 24 seconds...
  5. Turn the key to On position (don't actually start it), then back Off. Do this step 3 times in a row (on-off on-off on-off)
  6. Now find the little rubber *** on the inside of the car where the driver door closes onto. Its the rubber thing that pushes in and tells the car that the door is closed, should be by your left elbow. Push that in three times in a row.
  7. The doors should lock and unlock a couple of times. When they stop, press a key on your remote twice! Most people use the unlock button.
  8. Now pull the key out of the ignition and the remote should be programmed.
I followed the guide and the car seemed to go through a POST (Power On Self Test). Which included doors locked/unlocked, trunk opened and alarm went off. After hearing the alarm I quickly removed the key and it stopped. (It is 11pm afterall). However my keys still do not work.

Any ideas?

You did it wrong. Re do it. Exactly as the steps say, i've done this as well. If you car is an 04 it's going to be that both the FOBs died. It's a common problem with the first fobs. I actually just fixed mine and all i had to do was purchase the flip key fob from paul at mazmart and code it.

My car is an 07 so it already has the switch blade key. The key fob also lights up when I press it so it definitely has battery power. I will try the sequence again tomorrow when it is not so late.
