Remanufactured Engine from Dealership

Hey all, I got a compression test done on my 8 last weekend after trying for months to diagnose some problems. Turns out I have low compression due to deteriorated apex seals. Because of the warranty, I will be getting a remanufactured engine installed in my 8 soon.

I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or comments about their experiences or knowledge about the process or what I should do once the engine is installed. Right now the engine is en route but should be at the dealership shortly.

One question I do have is, does my odometer reset to zero with the reman engine? Or does it stay the same?

Thanks!

Common isn't that 'common' anymore.

Thanks carbon8 for the reply and I apologize for missing this area and posting in the wrong area.

I would like to say, there is something far less common than sense, and that is politeness. I would exhort you two who posted negative remarks to abstain in the future. It's not necessary and simply childish. I've been on this forum a while and love what the community offers with the exception of this. Apparently these comments are far too common.

I hope everyone has a good day. If this starts turning into a bash thread I'll just ask the admin to delete the thread.

The reman should work well.
Look at getting a few things replaced at the same time the engine is out, you'll save a ton of cash on labour.
Upgraded SSV, replace omp lines/nozzles, motor mounts.

Thanks for the suggestions fish1. I will do that for sure.

Thebetteryou, I have 68800 miles right now. I'm really happy with Mazda and how things have gone so far. Got a lot of stiff feedback from the dealership until the I asked to speak directly with their rotary technician. I don't understand why they treat you like an ignorant fool when you know more than they do. But it's working out. I'll keep this thread updated so others will get a look at the process. Gotta love the extended warranty! Thanks Mazda!
