Thanks... I'll let you guys/gals know what happens. Sooooo I was thinking. Both communications have gone out on a Thursday. Is there still a chance we might recieve news today? It's only 2:00 in California.

I guess there's also the chance we get another recall next Thursday as that seems to be the day they decide to break this kind of news.

Thanks in advance.
Sigh.......you will get the "E" flash if your car is a six speed, or the "F" flash if it is a slushbox.

Since we are over 24 months of production I would like to make a suggestion.

Several members here are second owners. You need to call the 1-800 number in the owners manual and inform them you own the vehicle or you may not get these recall letters as they get mailed out.

Well no matter how much I love my 8, I have seen why people say don't ever buy the first year of a new model car. Oh well, live & learn. But none of this makes me love my car any less. I just want these issues resolved before I start making major mods to the car. I don't want them throwing the "Voided Warranty" line at me.

The trouble is that everyone wants complex info that is being drip fed out over time through various sources all parcelled up into a single line post....and they want it yesterday. zoom44 and I have posted the facts immediately we've become aware of them, and as many have commented, before the dealerships front office staff find out.

This is not McDonalds....we don't guarantee service in sixty seconds. As timbo from the Oz forum once said to me.......Knowledge requires effort . The punters here are going to have to trawl through the crap to find the gems. Maybe if the crap wasn't knee deep, the gems would be easier to find....

We don't need to sticky these threads, they're going to be at the top of the forum for a while yet....

Cheers,
Gomez.

Look at the TSB PDF: http://www.finishlineperformance.com...5G_group2b.pdf

You won't be able to check the gas tank, but you can check the rear body grommets. If the grommets are fine, the gas tank does not need to be lowered/checked per the TSB.

I checked my grommets yesterday and they looked fine .

No, not true. This is true for Group 2 vehicles only. If your car was manufactured in 2003 or 2004, then you are in Group 1.

There are no repair/inspection proceedures for group 1......yet.

No. Apparently MNAO in cooperation with your local dealership are trying to keep you, personally, in the dark. So in accordance with their wishes we will not be supplying any more updates while you are online .

My group 1 car is in for service today and according to the service desk, they have the information to perform the recall work today?? I didn’t get into it with him because I was late. I'll post what they do for recall work today.

Oh, and in the mean time I get to drive a car that really commands respect; The Kia Rio !!!!!!!! Perfect 70/30 weight distribution. 0-60 in 14.9 seconds. The AC is pretty cold however.
