Radio/CD buttons not working.

I have a weird issue going on, and not sure exactly how to go about troubleshooting it. I want to avoid taking it in to the shop if possible.

The problem I am having is, my dash buttons that involve the radio/cd player stops working. The AC/Air controls work with no problem. Even the radio controls on the steering wheel stop working.

The only button that does work without any problems is the CD Eject button. And to make things more complicating... is about 1/2 to 3/4 of the time, if I eject a cd and put it bag in, all the buttons will work again for a while.

The backlight and display seem to have no problems at all, and the ***** still work. Only the push buttons stop working. The volume and sound still works fine.

This is a recent thing that just happened... and the dash has not been taken apart for about a year.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have read many similar problems other people have had, but none quite matches my symptoms, as they will have completely dead display or working steering controls. Most common response was the "pressure screw" may have come loose. Is this the screw/bolt that's under by the steering wheel?

I had this same exact thing a few years back.
Yes it was the pressure screw, and if I remember correctly it's just behind the head unit.
There's a solid step by step DIY in these forums somewhere that walked me through it without any hangups.
I simply gave the screw a 1/4 turn "out" and put everything back in and it was good to go.
I haven't had a problem with it since then.

Yes, I managed to fix the problem. It was the pressure screw. Just forgot to update the post.

Thanks for replying. :-)
