So, I finally got a professional grade scan tool. Hooked it up to the Rx8 to check codes and view live data as I crank it. Found 4 codes: C1306 (steering wheel angle), B2278 (steering shaft torque sensor malfunction), U1900 (can comm receive error power steering), and U2023 (fault received from external node). And while watching the live data stream while cranking I noticed something that I was unsure about. Does the OMP run when starting? Because the position sensor on mine reads "off" while cranking. Can any of those fault codes cause stsrting issues?
