Anyone have the parts list can see what I'm talking about:

There is something called "Valve, Solenoid" Part 18-741C on my car, Installing the K&N Air kit, If you look at the pic of the solenoid, the opposite end of the unit has a knobby looking part hanging off, it doesnt look like a filter or anything since its all contained, but it kinda snapped off... now im not noticing anything wrong with my car, no problems, and its been like a month, I was just wondering what the heck its for and is the part i broke off important to the magic of my emmissions system?

PS the part cost 88$ to replace the whole solenoid but i have no problems, and I think i may put my factory airbox back on and get the MS speed intake. Not sure im liking the K&N.
