pressure oil gauge low and low oil light!!! weird
I have a 2006 mazda rx-8 with 5,000 miles. Suddenly the pressure oil gauge goes to the normal position (just at the right of the middle) and then to low intermitently in any driving conditions. Then when it is low and I pass 5,000rpm the low oil light goes on then off, I check the oil level and is full, the car is going normal than nothing happens, but I am concerned what is going on, if is a sensor or computer problem or if is something inside the engine, oil pump, oil filter, or the engine itself.
Please tell me if somebody has/had a similar condition.
Thanks.

Are you sure it's full? The dipstick is hard to read....even on '06 models.
If indeed you have plenty of oil, I suspect a dicky oil pressure switch connector. It's located at the back of the engine block, in the area under the oil filter.

If it's got plenty of oil, and you are unable/unwilling to tackle the problem yourself, it's AOK to drive the car.
The dealer will sort it fairly quickly, I imagine.

I can't recall this happening before, so be sure to get back to us and tell us what they find.
Re-reading your post, I notice you said the low oil level light is coincident with a low pressure indication. This has all the hallmarks of a sump that is low on oil.....yet you say you have plenty of oil. Hmmmm, good luck.
Look forward to finding out what this is.

If you have a early-build car, the Service Bulletin below may apply to your problem. Check to see if your car is within the VIN range for the SB. In which case, print out the SB and take it in to a dealer to have the car repaired.

My car is new 2006, and the low oil light only goes on when the pressure oil gauge is low and I pass 5000rpms... Today I'm going to the dealer, but right now the low pressure gauge is ok so not low oil light...
I'll ask for a pressure diagnostic.
Thanks.

The dealer didn't find anything, so they reflashed the car with the last flash, and I started using protek-r, the car is so smooth and powerful than before!
