Was driving to work today (this never happened before). About 10 minutes into it, on a turn, the radio went off.

It took about 3 seconds but it came back on with the welcome sign "Mazda RX8", like you just started the car back up. The ABS light and DST light came on as well on the dash, and then went off.

Is this something to be concerned about? Has any one else had the same issue before? It didnt seem to affect the engine it ran like normal during that time. Didnt die or anything. Anyways, thanks, mines an 05 if that helps.

 

Loose battery terminal connection, your likely also missing the battery hold down clamp.

 

Yeah I have a yellowtop battery which doesnt work with the stock holder. I made my own holder and it works to a decent degree. However I take the negative terminal off quite often for when I work on it. Needless to say, when I put it back on I usually do it hand tight. I will double-check the connections when I get home and hopefully it wont happen again. Thank you. I'm glad it sounds like that and not something more serious.
