I have a 2004 rx8 automatic. She is not driving right if I step on her she doesn't shift gears correctly. She redlined all the way started beeping at me. At 1 st checked to make sure I wasn't in manual. I wasn't even parked her turned her off then back on. Took her back out in low speeds she seemed fine. But if u step on her she doesn't shift right redlines out all the way without shifting. Any help at what could b the cause of this us greatly apprecited. Recent work I had done. New engine n new coils. Thanks

 

when was the last time you had the transmission serviced?

 

U haven't had transmission serviced bought car used! Any ideas or help???? THANKS!!!!!

 

How many miles on the car? Also did you happen to check the tranny dipstick it see if your fluid was low?

 

check the fluid level. add some if necessary make an appointment to get the tranny serviced.

 

I'm no expert on auto transmissions, but it could be the VSS.

 

I have my rx8 serviced at the dealer. Everything was fine less then 3000 miles ago . Want to learn everything I can how to take care of her n maybe fix her myself. I bought her used as my dreamcar! Always check her oil (( haven't checked her tranny fluid. But she goes in shop sooooooo often I know the guys by 1 st name. HELP THIS IS MY BABY!!!! Thanks))

 

stop typing help and go check the tranny fluid. then find the manual and read it.

 

Yeah... Zoom said to check the fluid, I pointed out it could be the VSS... what kind of answer are you waiting for before you react?

That has happened to me to several times, I have a 2004 rx8 auto too and it used to have d same symptoms until d guy who fixes it said to check my front tires and true enough one of d tires up front had a bump on it, nothing is wrong with ur trans, check ur tires, once I got my tires changed it shifted normally back even when I floored d accelerator ,

 

Take it to a shop and have the transmission pressures tested.
