that is fine. you can pull it and plug it. or you can follow it to the end and plug it there..

a photo of the area plugged in the car for location...

if you have the mazspeed intake you no longer have the vdaf. you can plug it at the other end if you like or just make sure it is plugged. it very likely is if you are not having any problems..

a few of the wireing connectors have gone bad. you might look at the wires where they go to the connector to the maf.

yeah you may have damaged your maf sensor. this would cause a major fuel problem though. and a power loss in the car.
when you swapped the sensor that little doide thing. you didnt hit it and/or is is sealed all the way on the CAI. ?

Ok so i have a question. I have an HKS intake installed on my car and it does not have any screen between the air filter and the MAF sensor.

I know that the stock intake has 2 of them to help smooth out the airflow, but i havent had any issues so far running without them.

Anybody see anything unsusal with this setup???

Cheers

bastard :P

well still. you are missing all those vfad vac. lines, i would still check and make sure it is all connected or plugged just to make sure you have good idle and vacuum.

I believe you were supposed to take one of the stock screens and put it in front of the MAF sensor. As you said it supposedly helps smooth out the airflow...but I also understand that it helps catch ***** that would otherwise end up in your engine.

Really?? I would think that the air filter would catch all the junk from going into the engine, as the size os the holes in the screen are way larger than anything that could get through the air filter.... But i'm going to check it out once the spring rolls around and i get the car out of the garage.

Thx

The screen is use to make the air flow straight and smooth. No turbulence.

yeah the screens are there to make the airflow "straight" and not come in at crazy waves....the MAF must read the airflow directly or having it come in at odd angles will make a false reading and possibly run the car rich or lean depending on the reading

yeah just to make sure you didnt miss the 3 posts above that say the same exact thing, the screens help smooth the airflow so it works better with the MAF

=P hahaha
