Just wondering why a PCM would need to be sent out of state to be reflashed... dont delarships have the capability to do it in-house? Is this something different?

A short time ago Mazda started asking dealers to send mutiple flood PCM's to the headquarters in Irvine. They clear and reflash the PCM to a level not available to the dealers via WDS download. It has no real flash level number and adds no performance gains I can see. From what I hear it only changes the MOP profile.
