Hello Everybody,

I just recently purchased an 05 Rx8 6spd. The car is in great condition and runs great. I've noticed after driving that the passenger side floor and center console get super hot. I was told that its the heat from the piping running underneath. If that is the case is there anyway I can put some form of heat shield or coating on?

 

How many miles on your car?
You most likely have a clogged cat converter. If you are under 80k miles, you can bring it to the mazda dealership and have it replaced under warranty.
If you are over that and your state doesn't deal with inspections, you can search around for aftermarket upgrades. Otherwise, you are looking at over $1200 for just the cat...

Also, make sure you have the service history of the car.
