P0601 dtc = bad ecu ?

So my rx8 was running too well lately and gifted me this headache. Background:
-2005 4 port manual(i know not sold in usa)
-flashed numerous times (30-50 times) with mazdaedit + tactrix OP2, I've had this for 8 months now
-as built file changed to add cruise control, this was 1 year/5000 miles ago
-every possible mod done to it

This DTC/cel seems to appear under heavy acceleration, in gears 3/4, once every 30-45 minutes. When it appears, the skiddy car sign comes on, CEL comes on, the engine is stuck to 2000rpm and won't accelerate. Untill the cel is cleared with a obd2 dongle the issue remains. After clearing, the car drives normally.
I've tried:
-battery disconnect
-map reflash( might flash the OEM map just to be sure...)
-DTC table masking the p0601 entry - no luck, just the CEL dissapears but the nasty throttle cut still takes place.
-20 times brake pedal stomp
-logging using mazdaedit to find something out of the ordinary but after driving 100 kms and it didn't trip I gave up.

Suggestions on replacing the PCM ? Since I have access to mazdaedit, could I swap in the ECU from a 6 port and move over the relevant maps, or is the lack of a 3rd pair of injectors going to ruin my AFRs ?
I could get a 4 port ecu too but they are a bit scarce to find. Is a ecu swap as easy as flashing my ECU's as built data over to the new ecu and thats it ?
Is there any way I could get my hands on mazda's IDS software, and run it via the tactrix ?

are you in the usa?

did you try going back to a Mazda factory tune and see if the same thing happens?

Here in the US are a few PCM repair companies it could be sent to and they could diagnose and possibly repair it, if it’s an actual hardware issue.

If you do an pcm swap, by the Mazda books it has to be the same number that’s on the original pcm. I suppose you could try a 6p pcm, but potentially there will be cels and other such issues since various parts are not share between the two engines.

Didn’t you turbo this recently, or is that another RX8 you own? Alternatively you could consider an aftermarket pcm like Adaptronic as long as there isn't some king of government thing that requires the factory pcm, like the OBD2 emissions check we have here in the US.

This is the same rx8 I am planning to turbo. After dropping $500 on this ecu's mapping, I really don't want to drop another $1300 on a standalone.

After more occurences of this sudden accelerator pedal cutting out and the engine idling to 2000 rpm, my attention has shifted towards the abs/traction control unit. Reason for this is that the skiddy car sign comes on, but the CEL doesn't come on anymore, despite DTC P0601 not being masked by mazdaedit. I was too dumb to scan the ABS codes too, it only hit me recently that the abs/dsc unit can cut throttle too.
I've inspected so far all the wheel speed sensors and they all report normally. I've inspected the throttle pedal, brake pedal switch, neutral/clutch switches, brake fluid pressure, nothing.
One suggestion I got was for a short circuit or something in the tail lights. Well, I will remove the fuses for ABS/DSC and the taillights and go from there.

So I grabbed another ECU, with the following caveat:
original ecu PN: N3H8 18 881K - EUDM 4 port 2005
spare ecu PN: N3H8 18 881G - UKDM 4 port 200X ?

From what info I gathered around here the thing is I have to clone my As Built file from my original ecu to this spare ecu, this will be ok with the immobiliser and will also enable my cruise control again, since cruise control was not standard in Europe.
Cloning the As Built file should also make mazdaedit work with this spare ecu as well, since its reading the same VIN ? Well, that remains to be seen.

So that spare ecu arrived. I've saved my original as built file, flashed it on this spare ecu. ECU vin changed, so far so good. Then did a PATS initialisation, or whatever forscan says it does to match the PCM and RKE pats bind together. Then the car started instantly.
Well, at first I got these scary codes:

But after doing the PCM to RKE binding, they cleared and the car could be started. Past this, I ran into another problem with mazdaedit:

Well, the software part numbers dont seem to match. I have emailed epifan to help me with this, I really need mazdaedit to work.
