Mine didn't.

It spent half of its 2-year life in the trunk and it still split open.

It's hot in the truck when in the desert. What would you expect.

dayum... you guys should permanently remove your passthrough's to allow A/C to get back there... well, that is if you have anything important there...(dead hookers dont count, you want them warm anyway...feels better)

My trunk isn't too hot - I have the MS exhaust, so its pretty comfortable back there.
No, the Optima was just a piece of sh*t.
I just use cheap AutoZone batteries, now.

It starts the car, runs my gear and it "breaks" every year so I get a new one under warranty.

Don't use yellow tops

Yellow tops are deep cycle type.
They won't fully charge unless you drive for hours at a time, or put on a charger.

Well I went to the dealer today to inquire as to the status of my situation with Mazda. The dealer said they received another e-mail form MNAO Engineers.
The engineers said they are still working with Mazda Japan and to please be patient and they will have some info in a few more days.
I do appreciate that they (Mazda) are still taking this situation seriously. And not just kicking me to the curb.
The e-mail said "they are working on a solution."
Oh happy day.

I'll continue to wait for an answer from Mazda on this issue.

Stay tuned.

sweettttt ... so does that mean they will issue a recall for all users to add some "foam thing" next to their radiators to increase flow thru the Radiator ?

I hope they come up with an answer before you guys do my engine. Sure would hate to spend all that money and then have the damm heat do me in again.

Phil --I am afraid we are a different bred ---what works for them may help us but in the end it will not be enough.
I wonder how many have actually measured the temp of the coolant as it exits the engine---its hot. I know duhhh.

Well, the temps will be coming down again in a few weeks, so there will be time to apply any countermeasures that Mazda comes up with.
Rest assured, they are going to be simple things - they aren't going to re-engineer the coolant passages in the motor or anything like that.
Its going to be foam, baffles, a small part or something similar.

So far the small Braille battery I have has worked out well with the exception of the few amp hours it has. As long as I don't run any part of the HVAC system or the cooling fans while the car is off there's no issue.

As Erick knows, I'm just special.
