OMPs not working?

As the title says my OMPs don't seem to be working at all. I replaced my old ones because I had a blinking oil light and pulled a code for one of the stepper motors. Is there a fuse/relay I should check or is there a relearn I can do? Maybe a PCM reprogram or something? The new pumps haven't injected any oil into my rotor housings (judging this by looking at the dipstick periodically and level hasn't moved) so I have been premixing really heavy. Other than this, car has been running good. Any help troubleshooting this issue would be appreciated.

How many miles have you done at what engine load since you've been monitoring the oil level?
Consumption if you're just putting around can be very low. Has the repair fixed the codes you were getting?

About 700 miles now. Normal driving, shifting at 4-5k rpms. My low oil light is blinking. Haven't hooked up my laptop to it since then so I'm not sure if the codes are the same or if there's more. I just thought it was weird that they weren't working at all so I was curious to see if there was some sort of reset I had to do

700 miles of regular driving might not register on the dipstick. there's 8 liters in there, and you've consumed maaaybe 100ml if they're working at the normal rate? Plus wince you're premixing, you might have contributed back to the oil pan what you took out. I know, surprised me too, but appears to be a thing.

The flashing light is surely a clue though. Still the same code?

OP can you confirm what Series RX-8 you are talking about as you are saying Pumps which S2's have (two) but then you go on to talk about ''stepper motors'', as all Series 2's or S2 do not have Stepper Motors. S2 MOPs (the two of them) are a Solenoid base unit. ONE large Solenoid on each Pump which vibrates to move a base plate with very small pistons spring loaded against the base plate which injects oil into each of the 6 Injector lines and then Injectors, Series 1 have 4 Rotor Housing oil injectors not 6.

You have posted in Series II Sub Forum.

If you are premixing very heavily some of those unburnt 2 strokes will end up in the oil pan plus the factory OMP setting is very conservative.

I have moved this thread to the Series 1 Tech and Troubleshoot Sub-Forum as I did not receive any confirmation from the OP.

I mean his name is DiamondGray*S2*, I'd more question what code is set exactly and why that doesn't sound like the right one for the car

Sorry for the delay, I've been busy with personal issues. The code I was getting before swapping the MOPs was -P1687 metering oil pump stepping motor #3 control circuit- . It is a Series 2, sorry for the confusion. Mine in particular is a 2009. I haven't tried to pull codes again since changing the pumps out. I used ForSCAN to pull the codes before so im not sure if it's accurate or not.

Interesting. Didn't know that. I'm just afraid of holding back my premix incase my oil pumps arent working. I dont want to blow my engine prematurely will pull codes again ASAP

Code P1682 Metering oil pump failure

So my guess is the pumps I bought are bad. Great. Have to spend more money to fix it now 😅

Not quite, it sounds like it's interpreting the codes as a series 1 which has different meanings for that code. Check this: https://www.rx8club.com/series-ii-te...-2009~-200767/

interesting. "P1682*Metering oil pump No.1 circuit low input". So which pump is considered number 1?

I believe it's the upper one, with the oil pressure sensor on it.
