Odd puddle under car
When I was pulling into the driveway last night (in the Volvo) I noticed a small puddle, maybe the size of a CD under the RX-8.
I reached under and got some on my fingers, it smells like brake fluid. It is in an odd place though. Almost directly in the middle of the car (maybe offset to the passenger side a little) and way under the car in line with the side mirrors.
Where could that be coming from? The slave cylinder is on the driver side of the bell housing, this is towards the passenger side (slightly).
I can't think of anything else in that area, that far back that could possible be leaking.
Any thoughts?

was it parked there the whole time- no chance it was another car thart left the puddle?
any open containers in the car? I remember abbid had what looked like a leak one time and it was actually a coke loose in the back seat area.

Look at the fluid level in the reservoir on top of the master brake cylinder. This reservoir feeds both the brakes and the clutch system. If the fluid is down, then you know it where the puddle is coming from.
If it is from the car, it could be the line that feeds the rear brakes could be leaking.

I am going to try to get it in the air this afternoon or tomorrow. The brake fluid level is good.
The car was driven for the first time since I got it 3 weeks ago a few minutes ago! Replaced the clutch pedal assembly, and all is good!

My Jeep Grand Cherokee used to park there. But it had been about a month since. It doesn't leak a drop....of anything.
I am not 100% sure it was brake fluid. I am wondering if maybe it was gear oil.
Does the trans have the speed sensor in it? It did it when it got real cold here for a few nights. Maybe the o-ring is going bad.
I will look into it further.
