interesting that for the 05s there is a seperate flash for california cars... maybe the 05s have been leaned out for places outside of the emission **** state of CA?

Question about New TSB: Engine Quit, Oil Level Warning Lamp On

Hi All,

I notice there is a new TSB: http://www.finishlineperformance.com.../01-046-04.htm, entitled "Engine Quit, Oil Level Warning Lamp On."

I haven't had the symptoms but my car is a 2004 so it falls within the applicable range. The TSB says the correction should be made for "customers having any of these concerns."

Should I be concerned? Is this something I should ask to have corrected?

Thanks.

I took my 8 in last week for oil change and was told they updated my car to the new flash they had just recieved. I already had the m flash done about 6 months ago , recieved the letter about a new flash but could not make it in . Glad i did not because that one was pulled fast . So i guess i got the one you guys are talking about. And it was to increase power at low rpm and it makes a HUGE diffrence in my automatic. I would advise getting it done. I had none of the problems you listed they just did it , changed the oil and sent me home free of charge.

The fact that there are separate flashes may mean power goes up for everyone except Cali :o

This may be a dumb question but I'll post anyway. I noticed that the new TSB does apply to my '05 RX8 however I have not experienced any problems at all. Should I wait until I experience any of the symptoms before visiting dealer. Or would it make sense to take it in anyway to be checked before any symptoms begin to occur? My 8 also falls in with many on the forum here for the TSB about the front brake squeal. I have not had any problems with my brakes yet but was thinking the same thing on this TSB also. Taking it in BEFORE I experience any issues. What do you guys think?
