New RX8 owner..Maintenance input.

Hi, everyone.
Well I finally got an RX8 today. Its a 2007, 6 speed with only 29k on it. Being that I was driving an f150 truck for 12 years prior to today's purchase, I am completely stoked. Now granted, I am 40 years old so I am not going to be doing any mods to the car nor racing around with my hair on fire(at least sometimes I won't I do understand that Mazda did extend the warranty to 8 year 100,00 etc, but I would have to have all receipts from oil changes from previous owners. I can see this being a daunting task. Being that Im a rookie with the rx8 I figured I would reach out to the veterans I do have two issues already with the car:
1) the coolant light is coming on, though its full. I did find a post on here that explained that. Very helpful
2) I am getting a whistling at idle that only lasts for about ten seconds and then it slowly goes away. Any thoughts on this?
3) there seems to be a small bit of chatter from the clutch. When its in neutral and I step on the clutch it goes silent but when I release the pedal in neutral there is minimal chatter. is this normal. Are these clutches adjustable?
4)As I am new with this car and with the understanding they can be tempermental, what are the MUST MUST MUST preventative maintenance items and things that I must look out for in the future to prolong this engine? I appreciate everyone's input.

This thing is a fricken blast btw....grin

#1 -- sounds like you're covered
#2 -- it's likely the air pump warming up the CAT on startup
#3 -- no clue

Thanks Much. I had a feeling there was a posting on here about that. Guess I was just a little anxious. Thanks for your help!

our oem clutches tend to give alot of problems and break. I dont know what your issue is BUT if it happens to be the clutch i believe mazda has a warranty on them.

If they will not cover them by any chance then i would get this \/ (link below)

Complete Reinforced Clutch Pedal Bracket Assembly

#3 - It's probably fine unless it becomes excessive. Clutches on both of my RX-8's chattered a little. Sometimes chatter indicates that your flywheel needs resurfaced, but I wouldn't worry about it until it starts slipping excessively. I understand that expansion of metallic discs (from heat) causes this sensation, as well.

#3 - Since you mention neutral, are you talking about a clattering sound (maye a bit rumbly), rather than clutch chatter? Sounds like the throw out bearing. Not uncommon.

The clutch pedal height and free play are adjustable. I think there's stuff on that in the DIY forum.
