Exclamation NEW Headunit Problem and LCD partially works

Ok so I'm having a serious problem with my factory bose 6 cd changer headunit...

A while back I pulled the unit to replace my iPod adapter since my brother found a way to rip the cable. Anyways, while I removed the headunit and ipod adapter, I went to put everything back together and noticed nothing worked, no LCD, no climate control, stereo, etc. I hit the corner of the unit since the two connectors on the faceplate are known to be the culprit of bad connections for the headunit combo. In the past, this fixes everyone's problem, except mine is different. I have even gone the distance of sourcing a new faceplate that works since I have the LCD display back where it'll say "mazda Rx-8" on startup, then just display the clock, nothing else. I have connected just the faceplate to ensure the connections are good, but oddly enough, I'm still getting nothing else, including functionality from the headunit at all. None of the stereo controls or steering wheel controls do anything, and the climate control only blows the fan. When I turn on the lights, everything on the faceplate illuminates, but that's it.

I have checked interior and engine bay fuses, and nothing is blown. The grom ipod adapter I just installed to test if I could get audio output through the RCA still doesn't output sound, but does charge my iphone, so the unit is definitely getting power. IDK what could be the problem though?

I'm about to order a whole new headunit from a forum member as my last resort because I feel something is still up with the headunit, IDK what though? Could it be the stereo wiring harness? How hard would this be to replace?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as driving around for almost a month now has been a nightmare!

Thanks.

too bad you're in CA, otherwise I can rip my headunit out to let you test and see if it's the headunit problem of the face plate problem.

when u press the big middle button, does anything turn on? I know the display is dead but any radio or sound ?

Actually the display works fine, I thought there was a loose connection in the connector for the LCD, but it went away when I hooked up the bare circuit board to the headunit. When I turn on the battery or ACC, it will display the welcome message, and show and incorrect time, nothing else, and the headunit is inoperable. I can't do anything with it being the steering wheel controls, or the headunit buttons. Climate control only blows the fan, nothing else, and the lights on the climate don't work either. The whole headunit will light up it's backlights when I turn on the headlights though.

The circuit board makes full contact, but I still can't figure out why climate, nor the stereo functions.

did you connect the connector at the very bottom that's right behind the fan control **** ?

it might sound stupid but that sound like exactly what happened to me couple days ago,

I was removing my aftermarket Navigation cuz I'm sick and tired of it's SLOWWWWWNESSS. so I spent 1/2 day to remove everything (clean all the wires/mess I made before). and I forgot to connect the bottom connector, turn the car on and mmm? nothing works. , took it back out and like "Ahh, the bottom". connect, everything works again (except the AMB button and SET button, which I will check again next week)

The two connectors for the climate control? One of those you're talking about?

Bump. Anyone ever have a problem with the wiring harness? I'm starting to think the power connector to the headunit could potentially have a loose wire. Going to try and pull out the multimeter this weekend if I get the chance.

Bought a whole new headunit from a member the other day that should be here next week.

Did the head unit help? Mine is having major issues.. The screen won't display anything at all when it is on until I press the set clock button and then it will flash a couple lines. When its off if I press the ambient button it will slightly display temperature but I can't get anything else.. I've pulled the radio and display out and any clues I had to try weren't issues.. Anything you can think of????
