New Clutch install, pedal feels off

So today I installed the exedy 10803AHD kit (stage 1, HD) plus all redline fluids, install went pretty smooth except the front exhaust bolts, but resolved that. After the install was finished, and car was running car would not go into gear, so I did the normal rebleed the system, adjust the clutch pedal. By unscrewing the clutch pedal adjuster rod, I was able to get the car shifting in and out of gear, and drivable. Hooray!! The only thing is that the disengagement window is extremely tiny, i would say the first at most 1" off the floor. Car goes into gear smoothly, and drives great. But the clutch being engaged within 1" off the floor is something I am not used to. Previous clutch was a oem exedy that was installed before i bought the car, that was pretty wore out. Can anybody chime in with if this is how this clutch should feel, or if there might be something wrong? Thanks in advance!!

I think you are talking about the freeplay

It should be short in the first place, dont remember the exact numbers.but it should be within 1 to 3 mm

Its easybto adjust the pedal, lift the rear up, loosen the clutch rod lock nut, turn the rod until it fits just right at the piston, then back about 1/2 turn off, it should be right at thebspot, assume ur clutxh bracket is not weaken nor broken in the first place. Double check and.make sure the wheel does.not spin at all when its not in any gear, done

I'm not talking about freeplay, or at least I don't think I am, I'm talking about the actual period when the clutch is disengaged, ie when your at a stop and you push the pedal in. When I push the pedal to the floor, the clutch doesn't disengage until the last 1" before the pedal hits the floor. When I let go to stop moving, it's only about 1" off the floor and the clutch is fully engaged and the car is moving.

Currently the adjustment rod is all the way out (pushing the piston in somewhat), way further than where I think it should be, but If I adjust it in some, the car will not go into gear, as the clutch never disengages.

In short, it feels like the slave cylinder isn't pushing the fork far enough soon enough. But it appears the slave cylinder is moving plenty.

Hope this clears up what my issue is, or maybe lack of an issue.

Check your clutch pedal and see if it's weaken or about to fail.

then start checking the Clutch Master and Clutch Slave. The Clutch master might fail if the clutch pedal is already weaken.

I think I just installed the same clutch.. My pick up is an inch or so off the floor. From the manual, that is about right. It seems to be changing a bit as the clutch beds (coming up). I just have to remember to push it in all the the way, and that the springs are heavier on the Stage 1. That means it feels like it is pushed even further down.
