Needs Cleaning?

So today I went out to start the 8, let it warm up, and noticed that the engine light was on. At first I never though anything of it, I just let it warm up to normal temp, then slowly backed out and took off. Only problem was, I had no acceleration. None. It was almost like my gas pedal was non-existant. When the car was in neutral, it would rev up, but not while in gear.

I drove it about half a mile, and still no acceleration in any gears. So, I let it just sit and idle for about 15 min while I called Mazda, and when I came back out, I had acceleration like normal again - The engine light remains on.

I am figuring that the Cat is most likely clogged with something - The car recently flooded, so whether this has something to do with it beats me. I have done some searching, and I have read about cleaning the MAF, vFad and IAT. (If I read properly). I am planning on cleaning all this (If they are all actually cleanable), but could not for the life of me find any DIY's on how to clean these parts. I know how to clean a Cat, but not the others mentioned above. Can anyone help me out with this, or just throw in some opinions on what else could be going on with the car?

I've considered plugs, but after it started running normal again, it just seemed unlikely, though I'm sure I still need to replace them after flooding...

Thanks!

First, get the code read

MAF/ IAT sensor clean- https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...71&postcount=9

vfad - just remove the air filter and replace with a new one

Check your plugs/ coils. If you flooded, you may have fouled them. The CAT being clogged will affect those areas...

^ Thanks for the link, I knew there had to be one around, but I couldnt find it. As of now, the car is running fine other than that the code is still up. I'll be cleaning everything soon, and replacing the filter... I have a K&N Typhoon intake and understand from reading that the K&N filters can really gunk up the MAF

^ I know, I was skeptic about it when I bought the car. If I had the stock I would... I'll probably end up getting another stock one or a Mazdaspeed one if I can find a cheap one.

Not quite sure what I'm going to do about the CAT though, I'm not sure that I can exactly clean it, yet I don't know what to replace it with
