My RX-8 is nothing but problems!?!?!?!

2010 Prius - Miss the 8
Btw, I've left logs after logs with Mazda US about this. Left messages after messages. I wrote a hand written letter. My response came in the form of an electronic letter stating that I should take my car to the dealership so that they can assist me. But of course the dealership can't replicate the problem. 3+ dealerships later, I've given up.
1) It's not safe... I've had the car stop right on the freeway during rush hour.
2) Rather frustrating to drive this car out on the town, and have your day ruined because the car stalls.
3) Not safe. I don't feel like dieing anytime soon.
(And no I'm not a troll... just stating that Mazda US isn't doing much about this issue.)

update
Hello all,
Sorry for my lack of updates over the past month. With my job I travel frequently and don't always have the time to post when I am working at various sites.
Anyway, I called Mazda around June 8th to file another complaint. When I have called them before, they acted as they were not aware of the issue. This time I told them about this message board and knew of the issues with the engines either due to low compression/tempature whatever. Well the guy at Mazda forwarded my paper work to the Washington DC district rep and to the dealership I have been going to here in the DC area. Mazda tells me to call the dealership to set up a service appointment.
So I call the dealership and leave a message for the service manager. A week goes by and no call back. I call him twice more the next week and leave two voice mails and no call back. The next week I call every day and he is either gone or away from the office. I leave more messages and no call back. So I call up Mazda and complain and Mazda calls the dealership and guess what? he calls me within 30 minutes. The service manager tells me he was busy with training on the new CX-7. He appoligizes and I take my car in last Thursday.
I get a call on Monday from the service manager and he tells me he needs my service history from the dealership I bought the car from. I get that dealership to fax my history and a few days go by. Today my cell phone rings around 2 and guess what everyone??????
Service Manager: We are ordering you an engine, we don't know when it will be here so just bear with us as we work it out.
So it looks like I have joined the new engine club

i had a similar problem
Sorry to hear all the mishaps with your 8, I had a similar problem when i took the car out at night and tried to race it and heard something strange from the motor and or transmission. Then I parked the car and left. I came back to the car and put in reverse and the car went forward. I tried this numerous times and the car would go forward when i put it in reverse. Damn AT trannys! so then i took it in to the dealer and said i wanted a manual and traded it in.
Bottomline up front, I feel your pain!

This is exactly what I'm going through now. I had my 8 shut off on my while going through a parking lot. we couldn't get it to start so had it towed to the dealership. Of course it started for them and they had is for a whole week and couldn't duplicate the problem. They said there was a recall for loss of power and were gonna do that. They then gave it back to me. The next day I'm driving to work and as i come to a stop light it shuts off again. Takes about six tries to get it to start again. I then had Mazda tow it back. It's driving me crazy. I'll have to print some of these posts out. maybe that will help them.

Old thread dude, nice search.
Your engine could being going out, did they get any codes? Try driving it hard and see what happens, but it might be loosing pressure.
Are you under warranty? They should take good care of you, don't worry, it will just take some time.
