Happens usually after a certain ammount of time hot-rodding it (to a limited extent) and it always fixes itself after the car has been shut off/ reset.

Ok if u want an idea of what I'm talking about run ur vaxe up to 7500 then step on the clutch retaining wot feel what the gas pedal does (obviously in my case the rpms do not continue to build) and that's kinds what it feels like... If your still having problems noticing it... Take off your right shoe then ull know what I'm talking about.

Ok, I took off my right shoe. I still don't know what the heck you're talking about. And now my right foot is cold.

Seriously dude, what we've got here is... failure to communicate. Can you give a more sensible description of the symptoms that doesn't require the reader to own or imagine special shoes?

Roflmfao. Well dude I'm trying to do this on my cell phone. Vaxe is supposed to be tach ok quite simply its the difference between throttle in gear and in neutral. The pedal just...sinks.

OK OK I think I got it I just remembered this one remember the lay time you went WOT and forgot to shift I'm sure its gappenned to everyone at least once. Well once it hits rev limiter the pedal sinks to the floor doesn't it? That's EXACTLY what's happening here only @7500

Nubo 08-04-2008 12:09 PM

ok, well if I'm at WOT, there isn't anywhere for the pedal to "sink" to. But if we can simplify, it sounds like something is disabling your engine at 7500 rpm; either the spark or fuel is being cut. Does that sound right? What happens if you ease your foot off the pedal; does the engine come back to life below 7500? Can you rev back up to 7500 again? Does engine feel normal up to 7500? Does this only happen when hot? Have you had the problem with a full gas tank vs. 1/4 full? As far as "normal", no this isn't. I've never had the engine fail to go to redline at my command. There's supposed to be some sort of limitation when the engine is cold, but your video showed normal temp. This is a manual transmission, correct?

Manual yes... good up to 7500... let off... normal again... i think just over 1/4 tank.. yesterday... was 1/2 full..

The video looks identical to when my MAF went bad. Eventually it killed my cat and set off a CEL for that. There was no constant light for the bad MAF, just ridiculous readings and a blink here and there.

Has the CEL blinked at all? I would definitely look into a Mass Air Flow sensor issue...
