my dead tranny...
Ok welp i just got my car back. i've been dealing with a grind on downshift to 2nd all summer and i finally took it in cause i'm running out of warantee. they found that it had the shift fork problem so they fixed that but the dealership i go to is such an awesome place that the guy closely inspected everything in the tranny and if it had wear he swapped it, he also got me recall starter, put on my corksport clutch line and used my Lubro-Moly synth gear lube for free. If i had the money he would have put in my clutch and flywheel for free too but oh well. car feels SOOOO much better now. shifts are smooth as can be. i couldn't be happier.
in the notes they state
"Cust states the trans in grinding on a downshift to 2nd and sometimes into first. please cheack and advise. test drove and noticed first 1-2 shift grind, removed and dissasembled trans. replaced 2nd gear and synchronizers,1-2 shift fork, 3rd & 4th gear and synchronizers. meets manufacturers standards. note: clutch worn, cust unable to replace at time trans was out"

i've always had grinding when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. after the car warms up it becomes less apparent but it's pretty bad. shifting from 1st to 2nd is not as bad but does seem to be troublesome also... can you guys give me some advise on what i should tell the dealer? i've had a lot of warranty work done by my dealer but its never been easy. i always end up having to take in the TSB's in order for them to work on it. help please...

what year is your car if its an early 04 take it in there is a tsb on bent shift fork. if not take it in anyway and say, " sorry to keep bothering you but my tranny is acting up alot lately can you please take a look at it?" if they give you **** and say they didn't notice it. take them for a ride and show them.
also i wasn't intentionally praising the dealership i was just stating how busted up my tranny was.
