Hi
I am pretty new here but I and was wondering if anyone has come across this sound:




It sound really rough, it runs fine and just passed the mot.


The car revs and goes like hell but the noise it makes is terrible. There are no exhaust leaks and the cat is in good order.


It is hard to tell if it is exhaust or inlet noise, it is coming from the manifold area.
The cars doesn't drive any different.


Even so, could this be bad coil or plug? would just one leading or trailing plug not firing cause this.

Or is it simply a case of needing a new exhaust due to an internal resonator fault?

If the car drives normal I would doubt it is a failed coil or plug. This would be noticeable especially in the top end power range, might even cause you to go into limp mode or flash a CEL. Is the sound more near the bottom of the car near the cat or the engine bay area? I had a problem with a ticking SSV so make sure it isnt that.
