Whats up yall i'm a new owner of an 8 i just change the oil and put 5 qts and change the coolat i put green coolant in but i keep hearing that i should put red. Now the car shuts off when i ilde while iam drving out and about can someone tell me why.

 

stop leaving the car in gear when you come to a stop.

 

Need more info to help. Brand and color of coolant should make no difference in your car dying at idle.

Does the oil level show full on the dip stick? Does the engine seem to stumble before it dies? Does it happen all the time or just when it's cold or warm? What grade of gas are you using? What mods have you done to your engine?

If your 8 is new, take it to the dealership. If not, find an experienced rotary engine mechanic.

 

well mazda told me 5 qts of oil and syntec was ok so i did that found out a few hours ago that it takes 3.7 qts and not to use syntec. I run 93 for gas. it does stumble befpre it die's i was told it may be the apex seals my car has 74,000 miles on it. it runs fine while i drive. its just sometimes it shuts off wnen is ildling for a while its been doing that for the last two days after i changed the oil. also there is a ticking sound in the motor. i dont have any mods. i changed the oil today again and put 3.7 qts of oil in non syntec. it still did it twice today
