NY Motor Mount Failure on 2004?

Hey guys. I've been doing a little research on the forums and checked out the TSB directly related to cracked motor mounts on the 2004 Rx8.

I'm having symptoms which directly points to this. It's a 2004 AT Rx8 with about 46k miles

-Car vibrating semi-hard in drive when completetly stopped, but not in Park or Neutral

-While at low RPM's in third gear, after slightly accellerating then the rev drop, the engine feels like it's shaking the car back and fourth two or three times.

Weird enough on the TSB said the second problem only relates to MT's however I have an AT. I guess mazda missed that one

I've searched through the forums for some old posts regarding exactly which mounts I need. People say they've acquired the mounts for roughly $150-170 from different websites. However, adding up all the mount prices together comes out to a lot more then $200. This leads me to believe I'm looking at stuff I don't need, and only need select mounts.

I plan on buying them online and taking them to my local mechanic. Does anyone remember exactly which parts are needed for the repair?

Nice! Are you sure it's your engine mounts though? From what I read the problems only happened with 2004 rx8's. But who knows.. I suppose they could happen with any year any time =P

Well, that's the thing. I'm not 100% sure which ones I need, but according to TSB 01-021/06 it's from a RH engine mount deforming and cracking. Specifically for me, I assume it's the FE01-39-040 which is $124.95 at Rosenthal Mazda.

Not sure if I should order any other parts aside from that one though

That's good. After some research, I think it's best to get all three pieces. Left mount, right mount, and bracket. I'm still looking around for prices.

yupp. I'm from Long Island. How about you?

I went through 4 sets in 4 years. AT engine mounts don't seem to last. Put it in first in manual mode and then shift it to second. Vibration level should change.

Shouldn't need the bracket, just the mounts. Usually the right side that fails more often.
