Ditto.

After Ive eliminated most of the probable causes listed in the fsm I start using my brain and usually figure it out.

shadycrew31 02-09-2010 05:13 PM

Yea my favorite is that they will do a recall to put some foam around the gas tank so it stops making noise but they don't bother at all to address the broken clutch pedal situation.

If their sales were as high as Toyota's was i'd make a big deal out of it and go to the press. But I like Mazda they are the underdog! they throw a bunch of ford parts assembled in mexico in their Japanese cars.

Its just great.

Carlos get the compression test and lets see the numbers. depending on cranking speed anything 7.0 and lower is on its way out.

the FSM mentions nothing about the 02 sensor being at fault for misfire codes.

But ya never know.

I have a graph with some measurements it's what the dealer gave me when I went to check this out, well Thats what the guy told me anyway I really don't think he knew what he was talking about ok imma write what the sheet says
test analysis
speed of rev. 217

port1 measurement 628 compen(250rpm) 701.14
port2 measurement 597 compen(250rpm) 670.14
port3 measurement 615 compen(250rpm) 688.14

port2 measurement 636 compen(250rpm) 709.14
port3 measurement 637 compen(250rpm) 710.14

I really don't know what this is lol N I got 5 other pages with a lot of stuff on them only if I had a scanner

GenoSx8 02-20-2010 11:58 AM

Cvzrx8 - any news?

Cvzrx8 02-21-2010 08:41 AM

Not yet I gotta take it in to get it compression tested but it's gonna have to wait with my bills coming up this week so hopefully beginning of next month imma go..... Even though I don't wanna go to the dealer again

smooshinghead 02-21-2010 09:40 AM

this ma sound dumb but i thought you couldn't use seafoam on rotories. something about it eating the seals?

^..............To my knowledge, what you said is WRONG, it can be used. Do some searches.

those look like low numbers. did you ever get that multimeter and test your wires? I can walk you through how to do it the multimeter costs around $20.

Suave177 09-11-2010 04:55 PM

is there any new news on this? Im experiencing the same problem but the flashing light only comes when I'm punchingmit. I am FI which I know contributes to the issues but just curious as to the compression test results.

Cvzrx8 09-12-2010 07:17 AM

It ended up being a couple things, I had to reset the crank sensor after replacing it, set of new coils went bad so had to replace them n the aftermarket wires didn't make the coils any happier, lol so basically the major thing was the coils n then wires the crank sensor had been reset from the beginning.

Mazda_RX804 09-25-2010 09:37 AM

so is the car fine now? im having the same issues myself now.

shaunv74 09-25-2010 12:28 PM

imagine that. It's the same fix to the same problem that everyone has. Crank angle sensor, coils, plugs, wires are the most common problems with the most common solution.

Mazda_RX804 10-08-2010 12:04 AM

my fuckin engine light coming back on P0302 AAGAAIN! i thought it was gone for good. its when i hit 5000rpm it comes on flashing then shots off, and the 3rd time it flashes the stays on solid. New coils, new spark plugs (Done before misfire) dont know what else it could be... wires? some sort of sensor? they said they did all the resets including the KAN reset.

DocBeech 10-08-2010 12:41 AM

its not better, its just a compression and stability rating to prevent knocking.

Mazda_RX804 10-08-2010 07:20 AM

^so what can be done?

DocBeech 10-08-2010 07:24 AM

as far as octane goes? 91-93 is actually over kill some places. The higher your altitude the lower the octane you need. But I wouldn't mess with the air pressure/temp vs octane formula just yet. If your running 93 octane then your doing just fine.

Mazda_RX804 10-08-2010 08:33 AM

got an appointment for tuesday, they are gonna check if the spark plugs are working, and if the crank angle sensor is working.

Razz1 10-08-2010 11:52 AM

If you have a lot of carbon build up you can still get misfires.

Mazda_RX804 10-08-2010 02:03 PM

can the dealer do that?

nx04 10-08-2010 08:50 PM

mike get the dealer to do the carbon clean its under warranty , go talk to ron persaud dufferin mazda he did it for me and it works i know what misfire your talking about

jaxen 10-10-2010 11:19 AM

I'm having a similar issue. Ive got a mode 6 misfire??? Same thing, replaced w,c,p and now im told i have have to replace these again! Im so sick of this car at this point. I've only had it about 3 months and its been nothing but a nightmare.

DocBeech 10-10-2010 01:11 PM

jaxen that sometimes has to do with a fuel injector problem. you will need to replace your injectors.

Mazda_RX804 10-10-2010 03:12 PM

So I should do the same i guess so i should check this stuff out and tell them to check it?:
1) Crank Angle Sensor
2) Carbon Clean-up
3) Check spark plugs that were replaced few months before misfire
4) Check wires
5) Injectors
???

ridered05 10-11-2010 02:51 AM

ok so i had the same problem and changing the coils solved it but it has only be a couple days so we will see. you spoke about the crank sensor. how do you check this and fix it if it is a problem?

DocBeech 10-11-2010 04:00 AM

take it off and visually inspect it.
